Introduction
The Town of Churchbridge is situated about 54 km southeast from the city of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. With a population of about 1000 people, Churchbridge is conveniently located on the #16 Yellowhead highway, as well as the #8 highway, from Kamsack to Moosimin, and the #80 highway to Esterhazy. The town of Churchbridge offers many businesses and services, which are listed in our business index. Also, Churchbridge is proud to have seven different churches within the community. Many Things To See And Do!

A common attraction, especially for visitors traveling through the town, is the Canada Dollar Coin located in the town on the south side of Highway #16 on Bridger Road. The Town of Churchbridge constructed this monument to commemorate Rita Swanson, the artist resident of Churchbridge, whose design was chosen to mark Canada's 125th birthday in 1992. With a diameter of six feet, it is definitely worth the time to stop and check out what is possibly the largest loonie you will ever see! You may have seen this monument listed on the "www.bigthings.ca/sask/" website which is dedicated to the fantastic and awe inspiring monuments built by communities all over Canada.
Many people enjoy spending time at the swimming pool, more information about which is listed on the recreation page. In summer time Churchbridge also is home to an excellent campground which is located right across from the swimming pool. In the winter time Churchbridge has a hockey arena home to many minor league hockey teams and our senior hockey team, the Churchbridge Imperials. Churchbridge has one of the finest curling rinks in the area with four full sheets of artificial ice. Curling bonspiels of all kinds are held during the winter curling season. In the summer time there many of the local churches hold Vacation Bible School for kids, and the local library often has Children's Summer Camps.
Community events such as trade shows, fundraisers, dances, fall suppers, and cabarets are held often throughout the year in Churchbridge. One of the most well known of which is "June Daze" which occurs every June and has previously included parades, concerts, dances, pancake breakfasts, petting zoos, children's amusement rides, face painting and the popular pingpong ball drop for the kids. In the summer of 2006, June Daze featured a new event, 100 foot drag racing and the annual Lion's car fundraiser in which guesses are taken for the length of time a car will run without oil or water.

Local History
Churchbridge Cultural Center
Churchbridge began with the arrival of settlers from the Anglican Colonization Society, with director and missionary Rev. Robert Bridger. In 1887, the society combined the word " church" from the name of the society, and the name "bridge" in recognition of Rev. Robert Bridger, one of the prominent directors, to name the new settlement "Churchbridge". In 1903, Churchbridge received village status. In 1962, there were 260 people residing the village, and by 1964, the population rose to 600. Today, Churchbridge has about 1000 residents.
Community Clubs
Churchbridge 4-H Club
The 4-H movement has been active in Churchbridge for over 50 years. Numerous projects have been undertaken over the years - Automotive, Beef, Ceramics, Cooking, Crafts, Garden, Grain, Homecraft, Light Horse, Mineralogy, Outdoor Education, Photography, Potato, Welding, etc. The Churchbridge 4-H Club always welcomes new members.
Churchbridge Lion's Club
For 20 years the Churchbridge Lion's club has been an important part of community spirit and growth. The Lion's club is often one of the first groups to lend a helping hand, as their motto is "We Serve". The club is a member of the Lion's Clubs International, and is open to all men and women. Meetings are held twice a month, and anyone wishing to join or learn more about the Churchbridge Lion's Club is encouraged to contact the current President, Bill Johnston, at (306) 896-2389.
Churchbridge Lioness Club
The Lioness Club Program evolved from the work of the women supporting their local Lion's Club. The Lioness Club always welcomes new members.
The Evergreen Club - Senior Citizen's Club
The Senior Citizen's Club, referred to as the evergreen club, is very active within the community of Churchbridge. The club hosts weekly "Get-Togethers" for card games, birthday parties, dances, shuffleboard, and potluck suppers. The seniors participate in "Community Living" by collecting clothing and furniture to donate to less fortunate handicapped individuals in Regina. Also, monthly health clinics are held at the centre for seniors with limited mobility.
