Policy - Meeting Procedures

1. DUTIES OF COUNCILLORS:
The general duties of councillors is outlined in The Municipalities Act Section 92.

The Council Committees are carried by resolution for each year - unless updated. Each Committee consists of three.

Pursuant to Section 119 of The Municipalities Act - no act or proceeding of Council is effective unless it is authorized or adopted by a bylaw or a resolution at a duly constituted public meeting of Council.

Notice of regularly scheduled meeting need not be given, but 24 hours notice is required to both the Councillors and the public of the date, time and place of the meeting.

The Committees bring forward to the Regular Council Meeting their recommendations and suggestions and present a resolution to Council.

2. COMPLAINTS BY THE PUBLIC:
A person or company or group of persons who feel they have a legitimate Complaint to bring forward to the Town Council of the Town of Churchbridge should do so by:

A) Place the complaint in writing and bring or forward it to the Town office or give it to an Alderman to give to the office to be placed on the up-coming agenda.

B) Or attend the next or up-coming regular meeting of Council by contacting the Administrator to be placed on the agenda of the meeting they wish to attend.

C) The person, company or group of persons will have a certain time to address their complaint to the Town Council.

D) The person, company or group of persons will be notified of the out-come of Council’s decision by mail.
