Yard
Clean-up
The
Town Council and Citizens of Churchbridge will be pleased
if if you make an effort to have your property (Residential
& Commercial) cleaned and presentable before June Days!!
This
means raking and cutting dead weeds and grass, piling and
placing items in an orderly manner.
The
Town has the authority under the Nuisance Abatement Bylaw
No. 2005-006 to issue an “Order” which will be
sent to you giving you a designated time to do the work. If
the work is not completed in the designated time the Town
will do the work and send you the invoice. Under the Abatement
Bylaw if you do not pay for the work done by the Town
- it will be added to your taxes.
Under
the Bylaw a nuisance means a condition of property, or a thing,
or an activity, that adversely affects or may adversely affect:
-
the safety, health or welfare of people in the neighborhood;
-
people’s use and enjoyment of their property;
-
a building in a ruinous or dilapidated state of repair;
-
untidy and unsightly property.
Town
Council thanks you in advance for your assistance in this
regard. Town Council wishes to commend those residents who
assist with beautifying our town.
Water
Under
our revised "Public Utility Services Policy" all
residents must pay the minimum payment when away for the winter
months or the main curb stop can be shut off (this would be
classed as a temporary shut off), resulting in a $200 hook-up
fee once the residents return.
Town
Bylaws
ATVs: The Town of Churchbridge has a Bylaw No. 1-2003
regulating the use of ATVs. Under the All Terrain Vehicles
Act, our Bylaw states that any infractions will be subject
to a fine of not more than $1,000.00 and a police officer
may seize any ATV vehicle without a warrant.
Please check with the Town Office for copies of our Bylaw
regarding these regulations.
These
Bylaws are put in place to restrict usage to the nearest route
out of Town limits.
The
Town would appreciate those driving four-wheel drive trucks
and ATVs to please not drive on town-owned property and place
ruts in the mud. Just as you would not appreciate someone
driving on your property, the Town does not appreciate it
either. These ruts have to be filled in so grass can be cut
during the summer months.
